The Cattaraugus County Department of Community Services (formerly the Department of Mental Health) has two primary responsibilities.
The first and primary function of the Department is directly providing mental health services to Cattaraugus County citizens.
The second responsibility is the planning of services for all three disabilities: Mental Health, Drug and Alcohol, and Developmental Disabilities. Services for alcohol/substance abuse and developmental disabilities are contracted out to private nonprofit agencies.
